Can anyone confirm for me if this tree we have in our yard is an old fasioned Acer Palmatum and not a cultivar? We moved in last fall and I am curious to know exactly what species it is. These pics are of course taken after the leaves changed colour. Unfortunately I don't have any close ups of the leaves and the buds have not yet opened this year. Thanks
Would need close up of the leaves and pics at different times of year to be sure. Try posting some later in the spring, maybe someone will be able to tell then. Nice fall colour!
I wonder if it was grafted as a standard, so we couldn't see it here. Whatever it is, it sure is pretty! Virtually no way of making a positive ID without records, though. -E P.S. really cute kids too! :)
Here is a close up of the brand new leaves from the same japanese maple tree above (April). To me it looks like a regular palmatum?!
