Hi there. I am sure that this tree is instantly recognisable to some of you with more plant nous than me - any help would be most appreciated. The rainbow lorikeets just love this tree - I tried to get a pic of the lorikeets eating the nectar with the jacaranda in bloom in the backgroound, but alas, the birds are a bit flighty and wouldn't pose for the picture.

The tree is very large but has been regularly pruned to just above the main trunk for what I guess to be many years. When we moved into the house a year ago we continued to do the same. The flowers appear on the new growth, and after flowering there are a lot of elongated brown seed pods.

    Thanks in advance.

I think that it might be a cockspur coral tree?
