I just finished transplanting a 6ft Red (ensete maurelii) Banana plant into a 4 foot
deep pot. The plant dealer recommended topping it off with a vitamin B-1 formula
with alpha naphthalene acetic acid, iron, and phosphate. I sprinkled about 3 tbsp.
over the topsoil, and then, idiot that I am, realized I needed to dillute it in 3 gallons of water. So I proceeded to water the sh**t out of it...(there is a drainage hole in the pot). Did I do the right thing? Is this B-1 formula(Liquinox Start)sufficient
    fertilizer?

Watering the granular fert should be done, mixed preferably before application. Personally, I've found fish frtilizer to work wonders on Musa and Ensete. That 6 footer must have been heavy!

    Cheers, LPN.
