I was thinking about Ron's >10,000 posts, almost all of which have been of value to me. More importantly, he has influenced the way I look at plants and plant idenfication. Shouldn't there be a designation to honor such super human effort? His posts are almost 10X more than that which earns the designation of "Plant Enthusiast" and there is nobody who is even a close 2nd.

    Just a thought.

I agree. I was hoping Daniel would pick up on my suggestion a month ago!

Re: Congratulations Ron B on 10000 posts

Praps Daniel could do a special heading for you " Contributor extraodinaire 10,000 + posts"
    Congratulations Ron, amazing achievement.

Right, done (just need to wait for the promotion script to run -- I think it goes once an hour or once a day).

Ron, you may describe yourself as an Honorary Cherry Scout too. Or maybe that's Honored Cherry Scout. Thanks for all your help to me and all the scouts.

    Thank you Daniel.
I really appreciate the way you run this site, read all the posts and take on board the suggestions from the members, not just this thread, but the newly introduced Herb forum etc etc.

I think that Ron B should be named a "National Treasure", and that Daniel Mosquin should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his masterly moderation.

Am wondering why self-editing is not allowed on this thread.
    ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Some sort of time limit on this? I see that THIS post is editable, while my earlier one is not.

Time to revive this thread again, @Ron B has hit 20,000 posts - thanks to @Acerholic for noticing and mentioning that on another thread.

Ron took some time off when things were down here and when not enough was happening to keep his interest, so the second 10,000 took longer. Ron, it was a big relief for me when you decided to come back and keep my IDs on track. Thank you for all your interest and your help.

And it's a big job, but somebody has to do it.

    (Thanks for the kudos).

But what is beyond Paragon of Plants, perhaps @Daniel Mosquin, there should be a new look at trophy points??? The achievement should be recognised.

    Congratulations Ron.

These 20,000 posts are all meaningful, helpful, accurate answers. ..from an extremely knowledgeable expert.
    Well done.
    Here's to the next 10,000

On some forums ...not this one... the members seem to post just to build up a high score...
so very glad UBC forums are not like that.
