I'm new to these forums and in fact, this is my first post. I recently completed my Master Gardener Training and have been volunteering at our plant and insect clinic.

This past weekend, while working a booth at an event, a client brought a sample from her Catalpa for ID. On Monday morning, while at the clinic I was able to ID it and let the client know what it was.

I'm very interested in planting one or two on my property and wanted to know their soil requirements. I have clay soil and its not well drained especially the area I want to plant them. I'm also considering a Tupelo and/or Stewartia.

Any insight or help would be appreciated.
