I have a very large ( about 8 feet tall) palm tree that keeps outgrowing its pot. Again it is pushing up out of the dirt.
Can we safely trim roots back and re pot? What would be best time to do this? It is kept inside in winter, and on deck in late spring & summer. We live in North Virgina, US.
We love our tree and have had it for over 15 years-
    Thanks!

Absolutely DO NOT CUT THE ROOTS!!!!! Really great way to kill a palm very, very quickly doing that... Palm don't take very well to being 'bonsai'd' I'm afraid, so you may need to just pass it along to someone with more room, create more room, or repot it and keep trying.
