Two years ago I had a virus on my Kalmia. I repotted and the virus appears to be clearing. Last year I had my first blossoms (ever) appear in late June and this year I am still patiently waiting.

Today, I am just wondering about the life cycle of the kalmia's leaves.
On the one hand, my kalmia has a new crop of beautiful lush green leaves while in a few spots the leaves appear like in the picture. This is totally unlike the virus that attacked it before.

Could someone tell me what these other leaves are communicating or is this the natural life cycle of kalmia leaves?

Guess you're watching the flower buds, wondering if your plant may have some kind of leafspot. Might google "Kalmia leafspot". Believe they usually drop their yellowed leaves in the fall.

My Kalmia didn't flower this year.
I have no idea why. Last year was magnificent.
Could the leaf spot be responsible?

I've taken off all the yellow/green leaves a few weeks ago and I haven't seen more... I suppose this is a good sign. My Arbutus Unedo is experiencing the same yellow/green leaves but it is 20 feet away, 20 feet high, and in the ground, not in a medium-size pot like the kalmia.
