I can't figure out why the leaves on my raspberries are turning this colour. It's only on the 2nd year canes, this year's look great. They were planted in the spring. It started about a month ago. I've checked all the pics of diseases and nothing looks like this. I can't find any bugs on them. nutrient deficiency pics don't match either, and they are growing well and producing great berries. you can see the healthy leaves on the new canes in the background. They are planted in 2/3 clay-ish soil (but not really heavy- drainage is good) 1/3 peat, with sea soil (half composted seaweed, half composted wood) and composted manure added around each plant about 2 months ago. the only thing I haven't added is bone meal or lime. other plants in the same soil- sunflowers, cosmos, and strawberries are all doing very well. they've had regular water up until about 3 weeks ago (wet summer) when summer finally showed up. They've been watered deeply about once a week since then.
Looks like a mild case of sunburn to me - nothing I'd worry about. It's likely due to summer finally showing up after a prolonged and rainy spring.
The standard Raspberry canes are biennial. They fruit in their second year and then die. You should remove the old canes after the fruit is harvested and do not worry about them. They look normal. And be careful with watering. Raspberries don't tolerate "wet feet" for longer than a few hours.
