They look like raspberry bushes but are extremely prickly all over the branch leaving slivers in my hands. Any ideas?? I have raspberry bush and know of the thorns or prickles they have. These branches are different and full of sliver type pickers. Thanks

Maybe a dewberry? Close relative of raspberries (in the same genus Rubus), but with a more trailing growth habit.

Hmm.. they look very much like the wild raspberry to me. When you say you have a raspberry bush, do you mean a cultivated one? One of the features of some cultivated raspberry plants would be to breed out the prickles.

Some cultivated raspberry varieties are thornier than others, the ones that I grow are all more or less thorny. Let the berries ripen; that will give you a much better idea of what variety you have.
