I would (as always) very much appreciate some help on a series of Costa Rican flowers that are escaping my powers of identification. Here's the next one. Many thanks.

The family would be Melastomaceae. One possibility might be Clidemia hirta. I think there are supposed to be a lot of plants that look similar to this.

Great Wendy, many thanks. I certainly agree with Melastomataceae and had favored Clidemia. I think that you may very well be right that it is hirta sp. Thanks again for your great help.
