Radiant Heat Tubing in the garden!

    I just had the idea to use radiant heat tubing in gardens to keep the frost and snow away and produce some heat around the plants. Do you think this would allow for more subtropical species to be grown here in the PNW as the roots wouldnt freeze. Such as cacti, protea, etc.

    temperature isnt the only limiting factor for subtropical survival but it may bridge the gap for some species.
    Photoperiod and intensity is also criticial.
