I recently bought a quick fire hydrangea and for light conditions the tag said, Sun/Part Shade. Now as I look online I see that most of the suggestions for light conditions is Full Sun. Has anyone grown this type of hydrangea in shade? If so, how well does it flower? Maybe I need to rethink where I will put it.

Thank you for responding, I was about to put it in a predominatly shading area. Now I will have to rethink my plan; but better to find out now. I have another question; if I want to keep this hydrangea relatively compact but still have good blooms is there any special way to prune it?

You can prune it in late spring..it will bloom on new wood.
