Are spider plants suppose to turn brown when they are brought in? This is the first year I have had spider plants, and they are great big. They are in my basement along with my ferns (which are not bowning yet). I keep them watered. If they are suppose to turn brown that is ok, I just don't want them to die. Thanks for any help.

No, spider plants are not suppose to brown. The tips of leafs often brown due to sunburn or bad water, but the whole plant... that's a no.

Since they are not suppose to turn brown, could you take a guess at what I could be doing wrong? Any suggesstions would be great !!

If you had it outside then it might have gotten a bit more cold that it liked. Perhaps the roots rotted due to too much water. It's hard to say.

you say they are in your basement, are they getting enough sun? and they are probably getting too much water by the sounds of it.
