My mother has had this elephant's foot palm for at least twenty years and during a house clean up, it was placed and forgotten in a room used mainly for storage. It had plenty of light but unfortunately it was not watered for about 4 months and the leaves dried up and fell off. I had hoped that because it's a desert succulent it may have just gone into dormancy during the "drought," but I have been moistening the "foot" with a spray bottle almost every day for the past 2 weeks and it shows no signs of improvement. Is it a lost cause or should I give it more time? (The bulb/foot is clearly shriveled and it quickly soaks up water). Seeing as how this was a beautiful house plant for the majority of my childhood, I would love to save it, so any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
