    Hello friends!

I have Cestrum nocturnum (aka "Queen of the Night" in my part of the world) and enjoyed its fragrance for years.
Recently a visitor from San Francisco told me that Brunfelsia americana and B. gigantea (aka "Lady of the Night" in the Americas) have far superior scents.
Just out of curiosity, can any member who has enjoyed the scents of BOTH Cestrum and Brunfelsia please comment on the "superiority" of their fragrances - or is this simply a case of their scents being "divinely different" ?

    Thank you

I would agree that Brunfelsia has a more refined scent than Cestrum. Cestrum is sugary sweet with a bit of a rank, cat-pee smell. Brunfelsia is rich, sweet and floral. Thank you Eric, although the "cat-pee smell" of Cestrum tickles me! Now I have to look for Brunfelsia to add to my collection, which includes Gardenia, Jasminium, Tropical Magnolias (and Michaleas), Telosma...but not Rondeletia
