Identification: QE Park : unknown 2

    Also in a flower bed.
    Very dark under the overhanging vegetations.

    The habitat and appearance match Macrocystidia cucumis ... the odour would clinch it :-)

    Good afternoon. Just back from Nature Park.
    I only see and touch. Smell and taste are what I don't use !
    Will practice more smelling exercises ! Forget about taste.

    Excellent! Odour can be very helpful in ID'ing, and also it is just generally intriguing, as there are so many surprising scents in fungi, e.g. maraschino cherries, coal tar, cinnamon, bandaids and bubblegum!
