Identification: QE Park : mission almost impossible

    Fortunately the resolution of the 500mm lens is surprsingly good,
    I locked up all the tripod screws and had some fotos taken of these
    whitish blobs on a dead log on the ground. Kindly see if you
    can make anything out of these tele-macro shots ! Thank you.

    Interesting! There are a number of polypore species that are both resupinate and forming small shelving "caps." I don't think I can ID this from a photo, but the growth pattern and substrate will likely narrow down the possibilities.

    Oh.... after you pointed it out, I now can see they are forming tiny shelves !
    I guess they might be polypores still in Kindergarten.
