Wildflowers: Purple Michigan wildflower ID

    Can you please help me identify the wildflower shown in these photos?

    The photos were taken in September 2014 at the Robert H. Long Nature Park in Oakland County, Michigan.

    The plant was approximately 4.5 feet tall and grew directly on the shore of a lake.
