Purple climbing flower

    I've seen this flower all over the place the last couple of years, but I don't know if it's native or cultivated and escaped! It starts 6-7" tall and climbs 8-9' up, mainly by laying on branches of shrubs and other plants it intermingles with.

    Any ideas? I live in upstate NY, zone 6.
