Hi, My name is Duane. I would like to know if it is possible to purchase the kiwi vine's that produce the larger fruit? and where would you get it? What is the name of that type(s)?
The large kind you get at the grocery store are Actinidia deliciosa, but that species is only hardy to Zone 8, so I don't think they will survive in Ontario. http://www.crfg.org/pubs/ff/kiwifruit.html
I got mine from Humber Nurseries just outside Toronto. I was there yesterday and they had male and female for $30 each I believe. I planted one of each a year ago and they've grown quite abit. Hopefully will bear fruit next year.
