  1. I recieved a jade tree about 1 year ago. It does seem to be growing, there is plenty of new growth, but it drops a lot of it's leaves. My husband has less of a green thumb than I do and he loves this tree. Also, how often do I need to water. Kathy

    Dear no green thumb,
To look their best jade plants need full sunshine. They like a temperature variation between day and night -- 50sF at night and 70sF in the daytime, but they can tolerate temperatures as low as 40F at night. The soil should become nearly dry between thorough waterings. Leaf drop is sometimes the result of watering with cold tap water -- the water should always be tepid. Jade plants should be fed every 3 or 4 months.
    Hope this helps
