Recently cut a branch off of my hop tree and staked it so it will grow a bit straighter. Not sure if the bark damage was there before the branch was cut but I just noticed it today. Photo 1 shows tree before branch was cut...photo 2 shows stake...photo 3 shows where I cut branch...photo 4 through 7 shows bark damage starting near ground and working towards the top...I live in Canada right across the river from Detroit Michigan...it has been getting decent water...any help identifying and treating would be appreciated...
