I live in France. I have a wysteria running along a house I have recently purchased. In total in runs for 30 meters along the wall. Some of the laterals would seem not to have been pruned at the correct time (or at all) as they do not have side shoots - is there any way I can get these laterals to shoot? Or perhaps I should cut them back to the main 'trunk'. Advice would be welcolm!!!! Andrew

Long tentacles are typical. Thin in January, head back in July. Be careful to avoid the clusters of quite delicate flower buds during winter.

Many thanks for the advice!! I would prefer to keep some of the long tentacles, not prune back, but they have no growth spuring off them - if there is no way of getting them to 'spur', then I will have to cut them back, but it will be a shame - is there any way of getting them to 'spur'.
