Hi, we have a garden with two large tanyoshi pines that have only been candled. We would really like to lower their height but it seems that they don't want to back bud, unlike their yatsabusi neighbour. Are we stuck with what they have become?.... young fools that we were when we planted them, we thought that that lovely japanese habit we had seen in larger specimens was the habit of the tree and not a result of expert pruning....
