Is it ok to prune my 15 year old, very unrully, wisteria now, in November? and how deep can I prune without causing any serious damage to the plant? The vine fell off the pergola because of last week's strong winds and is impossible to bring it back to its original position. I thought that it is about time to seriously trim it back and try to control its growth from now on, by keeping it tight and close to the supporting pergola.

I guess I am afraid of pruning at the wrong time of the year. Thank you for any advise I can get in this regard.
