I need advice about our Lilac tree. It is probably 25-30 years old, quite large (12-15 fett) and straggly due to neglect, it produced abundant blooms last year but very few this year. The tips of the leaves are brown and dried out. How can I rejuvenate it?

a picture may help but in the meantime look for dormant or latent buds on the older stems, you can prune to just above these buds and expect regrowth. perhaps a 3 or 4 year rejuvenation might be in order.
