    Hi Cathy
'Blue Ravine' clematis belongs to the pruning group "2". It is a seedling from a spontaneous cross between "Nelly Moser" and "Ramona". Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins for the purpose of shortening growth, to keep the plant in bounds, or to remove weak or unwanted wood.
