Pruning (cutting) large magnolias

    Our utility company is insisting that I cut our five 30 foot magnolias down it 15 foot. Is there any way I can save these beautiful trees?

    Trees unlikely to be killed but their appearance certainly will be. And they will grow back eventually, to be butchered yet again. Maybe they should just be removed completely.
