    Hi all!

I just bought a house and inherited a few citrus trees out back - tangelo, grapefruit, and lemon. The previous owner who planted them put them RIGHT NEXT to the fence line and the house. The grapefruit is the one near the house and has a hefty trunk. The tangelo is next to the fence and is a much younger plant it seems. They've been pruned back to a miniature size.

Ideally, I'd like to let these guys grow up and out to get more fruit and some shade. What is the best practice for pruning/ growing out citrus trees this close to the house and fence line? Is it okay if they're lopsided (I keep the sides nearest the border cut back and let the rest grow)?
