Hi, I have a lovely large birch tree... maybe paper birch?... the main trunk of which has split into two. From one of these "trunks" there are a couple of large branches that overhang a flowerbed and look like they might split off in bad weather. I'd like to prune these branches but have read a lot of scary stuff! I'd love to know if I can, when I should, and how to do it. Any help would be really appreciated!
Thanks... good advice. I'm short of funds and so always hope these things are things that my garden guy can do, but I probably need a really good opinion from someone who really knows about birches.
