Pruning advice needed for Spindle Tree and Lilacs Hi, I have these plants in my garden in pots and was wondering if they need pruning. They are quite young, I have bought the spindle tree 2 weeks ago, but was wondering what I could do to make it grow bushier. The common lilac and the californian lilac have been in my garden for over a year. I don't know much about pruning, but I heard about top pruning. In case of my spindle tree, would that mean that I would prune off the long stalk?
