Some wonderful specimens are posted on this site. I just planted one which could use some slight pruning. When is the best time of year to do that? Any suggestions would be helpful.

A little pruning most any time is alright. Most will tell you to prune when dormant, late winter/early spring, before the buds swell. I think that is fine but I beleive that a little pruning throughout the seasons is better.

I agree most sources say early spring before bud swell, but myself checking on
them in an obsessed manner 2-3 times a day, I think a little here a little there
is less stressful overall. Unless its here in the south where I am, during the dead of summer. SUMMER BAD!! BAD!!:)
