Hi..I have a yucca that has lived outdoors all year round in the UK in a small pot....the top part is dying ( I let it get overgrown last year by other plants) but the bottom two yucklets (?) seem healthy :

Is it ok to saw off the top part and if so can I cut anywhere or should it be at one of the two growth nodes in the trunk ? Is there anything I should do to the cut to make sure it doesn't rot or is it ok to cut and just leave it ? View attachment 87489

Any advice greatly appreciated....I'd hate to cut the top half of the trunk off and kill the whole thing !

    Thanks,

    Geoff.

You can remove the damaged trunk to the ground and do
as the commercial growers do. They seal the cut with
paraffin wax. Probably not strictly necessary unless you're
in a damp climate or overhead sprinkler irrigate.
