Has anyone had success with propagating mandevillas or rhodendodron? If so, how?
I have kept a mandevilla for several yeas in my well house over the winter, but have not been able to raise anything from the seed or the roots. Tried to root rhodendron and failed at that. Any suggestions? Thanks Rusian

Mandevilla- Propagated by seeds, layering, and by cuttings of half ripened wood. Rhodies are tough! If low growing, they can be layered. A low percentage of cuttings does happen, but cuttings with a heel show greater success, and best in a shaded cold frame.

Thank you, I shall try the layering. I have layered Lady Bank and azaleas with good results.
    Thanks again, rusian

I purchased a mandavilla about a month ago and in getting it down from the hooks at the nursery we broke off one of the vines..The girl told me to take it home put some rooting compound on it stick it in soil with a ziplock bag on it and forget it. Well I did and I am pleased to say I now have 3 more mandavillas as I broke it up a bit more then just one piece.
