    yay..

hi again... These things are amazing... It's been the absolute perfect candidate for a desk plant. It seem to thrive under the office fluorescent lighting which is on about 14 or 15 hours per day. The plant sits on my desk so its only about 6 feet directly under a light array which must help it alot. Like Lorex said sometimes I feel I can watch this plant grow, new shape and new leaves over the weekend etc. Very satisfying to see it change so much in 8 months. :)

photo one was when I bought it in April. Use the pot for scale...

Thanks. I'm very proud of its success, but I can only take some credit. These plants are incredible. water, light and a food pill once or twice over the 8 months. :)

No :) Is that standard procedure? I have to say though, working in IT or at a desk, it makes such a huge difference to have a living near you. defo brightens the area up. Probably oxygenates the air nicely too. Must think of some good names.

Standard for me, maybe... Ed has ribbed me a couple times for suggesting that he name a Dieff "Francisco." My big species Dieff is called Federico, and I have a Philo named Teofilo (I like the classic Spanish men's names, for some reason.)

LOL. That's classic! If I decide to name my plants I will definitely choose a theme and ensure they all relate to said theme. Maybe Monty Python characters or some such thing. :)

What, so your Dieff would become "King Arthur" or "Dead Parrot" or "Spiny Norman" or "Berber"?!??!
or wait wait, "Brave Sir Robin"?
(Although I think Spiny Norman should be reserved for cacti....)

    "DINSDALE! DINSDAAALE!!!"

I also really like the idea of propagating a whole little Dieffy forest and calling it The Spanish Inquisition. McGon, now look what you've done. I'm going to start naming my cacti for Pythons.

lol @ the spanish inquisition :D wow... I didn't even realise there was so much potential in "the pythons" for a theme. Some brilliant ideas there!!! It will be done.. For the moment I will call him Diefenbaker until I decide on a python name...

That's fantastic. I bet you'll be one of the few people in the world with a plant named after a Canadian Prime Minister!

LOL... I bet. I prefer to think he is named after the dog in "Due South" the TV series about a Canadian mountie and his dog. Obivously the dog was probably named for the said PM. :) It will do me for now. ;)
