I have been having problems growing squash. The plants look healthy, there are lots of male flowers that are full of bees, then when the plants start producing female buds, they fall off before they ever bloom, so I don't think pollination is the problem. Sometimes the baby fruit at the base of the unopened flowers look yellowish first, sometimes they look wonderfully healthy and ready to open their bloom, then just fall off. This has happened the past 2 years. The plants get plenty of water, sunshine, the soil is fertile, I never tested the pH but everything else is growing well. I have neighbors who report the same problem. Any ideas?
