Problem with ornamental acer

    Can anyone please help with this problem that looks like red dots, it happens every year in spring and the leaves end up shriveled and dry.Please see image.

    Probably some kind of Rust fungus.

    Many thanks Ron, I have looked into this and yes it is the "Gall Mite", this is the third year with this problem and garden centres have been no help at all,Thank you. Pam.

    The damage they cause is insignificant, treatment isn't worthwhile.
