A bunch of privets in pots suffered a lot the winter of 08/09 and now have some spongy weird growth and lots of bark splitting. Is this biotic or abiotic? Any info would be helpful. Thanks Laura Ralph www.aliveandwellorganic.ca

Thanks a lot Ron. I've been trying to convince the client that it would be a bad idea to plant these out into the ground. Hopefully, the link you pointed me to will give me the extra leverage I need to get them to destroy them. Happy Gardening, Laura
