More about overwintering plants. When I take in plants (potted) from outside, I can't help from accidentally bringing in bugs that are hidden on the leaves, down in the soil, below the pots, or worse, bug eggs hidden in the soil. In the past I washed each plant (the leaves) thoroughly, and took them indoors. Of course, I couldn't have washed 100% clean, and days later I saw all sorts of bugs crawling around. I was about to freak out from seeing those awful crawlies. I like to use insecticide minimally (I avoid it when possible). Any good ideas on how to prevent bugs from hitching a ride on the plants?
