I photographed this very pretty double white cosmos last week in a community garden plot at Nelson Park, am finally getting around to posting it. It still looks great. I think it's Cosmos bipinnatus ‘Snow Puff’. The plant with that name is part of the Fleuroselect winning "Double Click" series from France, bred for shorter, stronger stems.

Right next to the cosmos is what I have finally decided is a zinnia, based on the opposite leaves. The sort-of second-story ray flowers are a nice touch; I don't know whether whatever variety this is just does that, or if it's unusual.

I gave this thread a pretty general name; anyone else is welcome to add flowers seen in a community garden.
