I am trying to find some methods for cleaning pollen specifically. i have read that ISO alcohol works well. i tried again today with 95% ethanol, but still am only getting round pollen images under the microscope at magnifications 40, 100, 400 and 1000....so i know i am not getting that that oily layer off. i am picking up some iso tonight to try again. i am also staining some purple or red to see if that helps, but still round.

looking for some methods in cleaning the pollen for making slides and getting surface features really visible.
    thanks! :)
