This is my first post to the forum so apologies if I'm not following protocols.

I'm based in Perth Western Australia. I bought three JM's as bare root stock from a supplier in Victoria (Melbourne - East Coast) some weeks ago. The JM's were in the mail system for about 5-6 days. As soon as I received them I placed them in pots. So far so good!

Here in Perth our climate tends to be more Mediteranean than the East Coast. Over the past few days I've noticed that the JM's were budding and one is now about to leaf. We are only in the first month of winter so while I'm very happy the JM's survived the postal system I'm concerned that the premature budding might be problematic. We tend not to get frost but we do get down to 2-3 deg C several times during winter. Should I be concerned about the premature budding?

Shouldn't have thought so. Your trees will soon adjust to your own climate and behave 'normally' (says he knowingly)
Well ... at least I think so and hope so :)
It is a little like those plants that are brought forward or kept back for garden shows like Chelsea etc ....
