Hello, last spring my hubby decided to repot a plant (pothos) for me. Unfortunately, I didnt know he planted it in dirt from the yard -- dont think it is very good dirt. The plant has been sitting up on a shelf in the kitchen all year, so today I took it down to get a good look at it and check the soil. I could never see the top of the pot, just could reach my finger in to see if it needed watering....Iam not very tall. I found out its potted in regular dirt from the backyard! Can I just repot this in some good plant soil that I have here at the house. The plant looks good, and has grown...but Iam worried about long term -- would it be better to go ahead and disturb it to repot in better soil? The dirt it is in now seems quite heavy...I know I have to barely water it because it holds water. Is that something I can do now, or should I wait a few months? I live in southern california, so it doesnt get real cold right now, but it has been getting down to the upper 40's and mid 50's at night. any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Thanks Marn, glad to hear someone thinks it will be ok....my hubby kept telling me to leave it alone til Spring! Going to give it a try tomorrow! Thanks!
