I have a golden pothos that is over 4 months old and healthy but it has never climbed over 8 inches. Is that normal? Thanks Buddy C
what kind of soil is it in? what about the planter - does it have drainage holes? how often are you watering? how much sun light does it get? do you have something in the pot for it to climb up on? if so, what?
Thanks for replying Joclyn. Planted in pot with two holes in the bottom, in orchid mix and some organic top soil, water almost every day, it gets several hours of indirect sun, have two 1"x2"x30" boards.
it doesn't need water every day. a throrough wetting of the medium (which is absolutely right on for what it likes) every 4 days or so is more than enough. they like evenly moist soil...not completely soggy and watering every day is keeping it too moist. i'd cut back on the watering frequency and, instead, mist the leaves once daily and water every 4 days or so. the sunlight level and amount is fine. mine goes in spurts/spasms...it grew a bunch in late spring and hasn't done much since...and it's repeated that since i've had it (almost 3 years now). it also has a growth spurt in the fall, and i expect that to happen again this year. oh, you can feed it, too...i use an all-purpose food (peter's) mixed at about 1/2 strength and stored and then mixed in with the water every 2nd or 3rd watering. i do thin it down a bit for watering - to about 1/3 strength. the boards are good...they like to climb up, so it's good that you have them in already.
