I live in central California and the avg day temps right now are in the low 60's. I'm not planning on grafting until probably February after we've had our last frost, but before leaves begin to push. I've been doing a lot of reading on grafting, and I've read people say that after they graft they put the tree (Japanese maple) in their unheated green house. I'm just wondering if there are certain conditions that need to be maintained after a graft has been performed, but before you remove the bag? Is it okay to leave the plant outside? Our average temperatures in February are the mid to low 60s during the day, and the low 40s at night. Hopefully that helps.

Part two of the question. After selecting and removing scions, do you have to do anything in particular to store them in your refrigerator if you can't use them all right away? I've got about 500 trees to graft, and it's going to take me awhile!

So, are you grafting yet? Let's hear about it.

Yes actually. I started a few days ago and so far have grafted somewhere around 70 trees. There was definitely a learning curve with the first few, but now I feel like I've got the hang of it (I hope). I'm going to try and upload some pictures in the next couple of days and write more describing my personal process. I might start a new thread for it.
