"YEA they are cutE but when you hold them they like fertilize on you sometimes and its yakky :-) and smells very strong."

We used to have a lot of wild ones at my famly home prior to the 1983 Ash Wednesday fire. One year out on the horses and we were taking a break at the foot of a tree on a beautiful sunny day. First we were hit by what we thought was hail and then rain. The smell was very strong as the Koala went to the loo 60 ft up a gum tree.

Out local resident was a big old male that used to migrate from the trees up the hill down through dad's garden out the drive way and down to the horse paddock trees. He was around for years. When he was looking for a wife he was so noisy and grunted very loudly.
Other wise he just proped in the fork of the tree and seemed to sleep his life away. They can move very fast when they have to but usually life is a very casual affair.

Sometimes hybrids wont produce seeds or germinate at all...

I know owning endangered species is generally illegal, but I can't help but want a few when i see the cute fuzzy ones. :)

Here's my brunch from yesterday sandwiched by two roses. I was surprised when they opened because they're only as big as my big thumb.

Wow - looks like a great brunch, ShearMe.

    Guess what?!!!...

Today I collected fresh seeds from my very first long red cayenne pepper! Now I have some seeds for sharing again. I am sending you Tennessee Cheese sweet pepper, and Long Red and Purple Cayenne hot pepper - plus the Goji berry seeds.

I will mail them before the end of the weekend. Just keep them drying in their coin envelopes for about a week after you get them, before sowing or storing at the bottom of the fridge for next season.

Oh you didn't have to do that, Zac! So sweet of you though. Looking forward to receiving whatever it is. How exciting.

I had some spare time this afternoon and managed to get your seeds ready. They're already in the mailbox! The Goji berry seeds are totally ready to sow and are completely viable. Mine are sprouting like crazy!

The Goji shrubs I ordered from Quebec are growing beautifully and are enjoying what I am doing for them so far. These shrubs are perennials and apparently will have their hugest berry crops after the fourth and fifth year. They love full sun.

The berries are said to be the most nutrient dense food on the entire planet! They are hinting that the cure or at least the prevention of cancer can be found inside these little power berries, extremely rich in anti-oxidants. Just can't wait to make them an everyday part of my diet. They are said to taste like raisins when dried.

You keep going on and on about the health benefits of Goji berries. :P

I don't think there'll ever be a "cure" for cancer. Long-term beneficial things like anti-oxidants and more salads would prevent cancer, but nothing can halt the divisions of a mutated cell without removal of the cell itself.

Studies have proven that goji berries slow the growth of cancer cells. The health benefits are undeniable. You should do some research on them.

I disagree about the cure for cancer - I think a cure will one day be found, though likely not in my lifetime.

Ok, here's some shots I just took...

The 1st shot is my round 'string of pearls' plant, and the 2nd is my oval 'string of pearls' variety. You can see the difference in shapes. They are just now reviving from all of my snipping. I've been sharing so many cuttings with people that I am now allowing the plants to grow again, so I can share more cuttings in the Fall.

Also, a new crop of 'Tennessee Cheese' sweet pepper, raved to be as sweet as candy, in the 3rd pic. The round fruits will turn red.

The fourth is a shot of a new swirl of a banana leaf, from my little Basjoo pup. Not little for long though, I bet...

If you are looking for natural ways to kill cancerous cells and slow down the desease then anything red can have a strong impact, concentrated tomato puree is rich in anti oxidents, red onion, red pepper, red chile, beetroot( Not sure if I spelt that right, betabel o remolache en Espanol) Red grapes, red wine all are shown to slow the rate of cancer growth and even kill cancerous cells, tanins in tea and also carrots providing you eat them whole and not chopped up as the cell degredation from chopped carrots destroys their beneficial properties. Raddish and Broccoli are good in the fight against cancer too.

Diet can have a great inpact on our health. For example fresh nettle tea providing you pick the nettles before they flower and only simmer them not boil them can repair kidney damage, its always good to study the cures of mother nature as a foil to tablets that have side effects and see if you can't find a natural cure or a partner to aiding you back to full health than just accept chemicals. I was amazed in my time in the Yucatan Jungles to find out what the Maya could cure naturally and how much more healthy they are compared to so called civilized peopla due to their healthy diets.

I think I'll get off my soapbox now.

I agree wholeheartedly, and I am aware of all of that, as well. I have a wonderful book called food remedies, that is just amazing.

That is exactly why I go 'on an on' (as ShearMe said), about Goji berries, because these little power berries are said to beat all of the above mentioned vegetables and then some! Eating these berries, combined with other fruits and veggies, can keep one healthy and strong for a very long time.

I love to use many different herbs to ingest and make teas from. My lemon balm is just one of many. I am going to be growing St. John's Wort soon - which has many medicinal uses.

I need to find some lamb's ear plants or seeds so I can make my own bandages for when I cut myself in the garden.

All I know this spring after -17C and a VERY COLD winter all his pond Numbelo are well and alive and blooming ...thats all I can say. so IF it does not have leaves in the winter it does not need so much water I could keept in with less water in the garage . Filled with water I can not carry that pot . its at least 75L .

You can buy them dried in any Chinese herb shop not for a fortune and add some to your green tea. My branches are growing tall nearly 4 feet but NO side branches at all so I wonder must I prune it back or not ? one wonders but as this is their first year I want to let the 1st branch shoot an get strong ..I am not sure by pruning that the branch will get stronger or will it make new branches on the side.

Well none of my visits were private. If you work on foreign trade, all those trips are paid by the company, that's the good part.

Keep in mind too, ShearMe, how old you are! I am sure you will do some travelling before you are through.

Frankly, with all the bad things happening to tourists in foreign countries, I am just as happy to stay put! I would have to totally research a country, and all it's laws (particularily surrounding foreigners!), before I could ever be convinced to go.

I have friends that are always taking off for here, and taking off for there, and they know nothing at all about the places they are visiting! It's insane, to me. I fear they may not return one day. Some of those documentaries I've seen are downright scary!
