Portuguese Laurel - One of six looking sickly

The first of six four year old Portuguese Laurel's that were planted to develop a hedge has recently started to yellow and the leaves seem to be folding in slightly. Looking at the tree the base has some discoloration. None of the other trees are showing any of these signs - but when working near these trees several weeks ago, all of them looked just fine.
