I took a picture of some wild poppies in Q.E. Park. The same poppies are also all over my yard growing wild. Can anyone identify the exact type? Trying to identify it myself is just leading to confusion because I'm new at this.

Lucky you! I have been trying to establish Meconopsis cambrica in my garden with seeds from Thompson & Morgan; not one seed has ever germinated. It is not available through local nurseries.

As with all poppies, Welsh Poppy seeds don't store well, so commercially bought seeds are rarely viable. But probably a good thing that you did fail to germinate any; many years ago my parents got one plant, and ever since then they've had to pull up about 500 of them every year. But if you really want some, I could send some fresh seeds . . .
