poor soil area

    I have a cottage directly road side with a narrow stretch of soil backed up to the boundary wall.In wet weather this area receives splashing from road in particular salty/grit deposits.
    what sort of plants/grasses could survive in this area?

    no,the road and my boundary are very close.there is no boundary wall
