I have a ponytail plant that is about 4 years old. I water it every week. It looks like it's dying. Have I overwatered? Can I still save it? Thank you!

The info is too scanty to understand. If the leaves are turning yellow & dropping down it is overwatering. If the stem has not turned soft, it will be possible to still save it. Lack of sunlight too can make leaves turn yello & drop.

Nandan, The leaves are not as green and are dropping down. How can I tell if the stem has turned soft? The plant has indirect sunlight. Should I put it in direct sunlight? Should I only water once a month? Thanks very much for your reply. Sandra

    Hello Sandra
If you press the stem, youi can feel if it is getting soft or is rigid. I do not know the exact conditions at your place. If the winters are severe, do not water till the top soil seems dry. Beaucarnea recurvata (Nolina recurvata) love direct sunlight. If you are watering it once a week, then I do not think the problem is in watering. It seems it is lack of sunlight. I am from near Mumbai, Western India. So my views depend upon the conditions here.
